Grade 9 International Language Credits in Summer School

There are international language credits available to take at summer school. These are grade 9, level one programs and are available during the month of July. Students who are in grade 9 this year may apply. Please see your Guidance Counselor for more information.
Graduating Students Who Applied for Ontario Universities

All students should log on to the OUAC Site and check that ALL your grade 12 marks have been downloaded. Remember to also check that any courses you are taking outside ECI are there. Private schools are responsible for submitting those marks.
Apple Scholarship Rewards Program

There are several new scholarships that have come in recently.
1. Padqett Business Scholarship - for children of owners of small businesses. The deadline is tomorrow so come in today.
2. Avid Scholarship - for students with physical disabilities
3. Whipper Billy Watson - Maurice Izzard awards are also for students with physical disabilities
4. Maytree Scholarship Program - for students who are refugees.

All of these scholarship are available in the Guidence Office.

Bishops University

Overseas Courses Summer 2007

Travel to Ireland, England, Scotland, and Italy in July 2007 and gain a high school credit.
Celtic Learning conducts credit courses in Oxford, Dublin, Galway, Cork, Edinburgh, Rome, and Tuscany during the summer. Courses accredited by District School Boards.
There is an information session at HumberSide Collegiate, 280 Quebec Ave. on Thursday February 8th at 7pm all are welcome.

All students will have received a copy of their timetable in homeroom on Friday. The only students who will be affected are those who are taking Civics, Careers and ESL. If you did not receive a copy of your timetable you can pick one up in the office.

In the showcase outside Student Services there is a list of the community service hours recorded for all possible June 1007 graduates. Please make sure that you check this list and report any descrepancies to Student Services. This is your responsibility.

University of Guelph Scholarships

The University of Guelph is inviting applications from high school students for two prestigious scholarships:

The presidents scholarships is their highest award for students with very high marks, significant contribution to their school and community, and the potential to become leaders in society

The Lincoln Alexander Chancellor Scholarship is the same as above, except that the award is only open to students who are from a visible minority, or have a disability or are Aboriginal Students.

Scholarship Opportunity for grade 11 students: MEI International Academy is offering a scholarship valued at $6:000, it covers full tuition for a summer credit program in Great Britain, Spain, France, Italy, Greece, and Costa Rica. Candidates must be in grade 11, have a minimum 80% average, interest in international education, strong extra-curricular involvement, and leadership qualities. University of Toronto High School Outreach Program

The University of Toronto is holding a High School Outreach program + students in grades 10-12 are invited. These are week long residential camps held at the downtown campus giving students access to lectures, labs + workshops. There are 3 different Camps:

The Helix Project in life sciences and The Fast Forward Music Projects are offered May 14-18 and May 21-25.

The Soulpepper Theatre Camp runs May 21-25 and May 28 - June 1st.
