This year's Reach for the Top season is about to begin! In case you were unsure Reach for the Top is a national competition in which teams from different high schools face off against each other in team-based Jeopardy like competition.

Here are Some Sample Questions:

If you have been a sports manager since September 2006 please submit a player list with all of the players full names, manager names, and coaches. This process will go on all year, These names will be the ones posted in the yearbook so please get those names in ASAP.

Those lists can be submitted in the brown envelope on the sports board on the 100 level or too any of the yearbook members.

The University of Guelph is inviting applications from high school students for two prestigious scholarships:

The presidents scholarships is their highest award for students with very high marks, significant contribution to their school and community, and the potential to become leaders in society

The Lincoln Alexander Chancellor Scholarship is the same as above, except that the award is only open to students who are from a visible minority, or have a disability or are Aboriginal Students.

See Ms. Ison immediately as the deadline is Feb 1st.

Huron College at the University of Western Ontario is offering a National Scholarship for students who have applied. You must have a 90% average and outstanding achievement in community service, athletics, arts, or student life. Applications are die by Feb 23. Pick one up in Student Services.

Scholarship Opportunity for grade 11 students: MEI International Academy is offering a scholarship valued at $6:000, it covers full tuition for a summer credit program in Great Britain, Spain, France, Italy, Greece, and Costa Rica. Candidates must be in grade 11, have a minimum 80% average, interest in international education, strong extra-curricular involvement, and leadership qualities. Applications are due January 26, for more information see Ms. Ison.

The University of Toronto is holding a High School Outreach program + students in grades 10-12 are invited. These are week long residential camps held at the downtown campus giving students access to lectures, labs + workshops. There are 3 different Camps:

The Helix Project in life sciences and The Fast Forward Music Projects are offered May 14-18 and May 21-25.

The Soulpepper Theatre Camp runs May 21-25 and May 28 - June 1st.

If you are interested in any of these camps, see your counselor.

To all those thinking of buying out of last period on Wednesday to watch our ECI Rams play the Richview Saints, tickets will be on sale in the Gym Storage room across from the small gym today, Tuesday, and Wednesday at lunch.

The game is at Pinepoint Arena. Buyout tickets are either $3, for the purchase of a ticket to leave class and find your own method of transportation, or $5 for a buyout ticket and a bus ride to the game. There are only 45 tickets for the bus, so buyout ASAP!

* You must go to last period class to sign in before you can leave for the game.

Yesterday the Drama Department took 120 students to see a presentation of Hana's Suitcase. Everyone enjoyed a great afternoon at the theatre. On behalf of Mr. Zobary, Ms. Crawford, Mrs. Walker, and Ms. Malo, congratulations go out to attending students for being gracious and the best students in the theatre!
