Re: Literacy Test

Reminder: Special Ed. students will be writing the Literacy Test on the computers in room 115. The test starts Thursday March 29/07 at 8:45 am. Any questions, please see Mrs. Eastwood.

This is an important announcement regarding course verification forms for students with a homeroom spare. If you would like to check that your options for next year were entered correctly. Please see Mrs. Piercey in the min office. Any home room teachers who did not complete the verification on Monday should do so this morning and return the folders to Mrs. Piercey in the main office.

Attention all girl soccer players!!! Our season will begin this year with a general meeting and sign up list this Wednesday at lunch in room 269. Start the season off right by being on time. The first tryout will be Monday morning at 7:00 am. Practices are inside until further notice.

To all the girls who are interested in playing women's softball this year, you must pick up and have permission to try-out form filled out by Wednesday. The first try-out will be Wednesday after school in the big gym. Come dressed with your glove. Forms can be picked up in the phys. ed. office.

What an outstanding performance by the ECI swim team. Our swimmers had another great day at the pool with Kurtis Bond winning medal, coming 3rd in the province in the 100 Free and the Junior Boys Freestyle relay came in second place bringing home the silver! Other outstanding performances included the senior girls free relay who placed 8th, Nicole Brown and Robert Duncan finishing 8th in their 100 free races. In the end, Etobicoke finished 8th out of the entire province of Ontario!!! What a great season. Thanks to the swimmers and the coaches for all of their hard work!

A huge congratulations goes to the Etobicoke swimmers who competed in yesterday's OFSAA swim events. Every swimmer swam their best and many had personal best times. A special mention goes to Sydney Ferguson who won a bronze in her 100 Freestyle, Kurtis Bond who won silver in his 50 Free, and to the Sr. Girls Medley Relay team - Meagan Brown, Megan Hamilton, Sydney Ferguson and Nicole Brown, who came from a 6th place seed to win the silver medal!!! Currently, E.C.I. is sitting in 7th place out of the 233 schools at OFSAA. Today we have 14 swimmers representing us at OFSAA. Good-Luck.

Yesterday 5 teams represented the E.C.I. curling team in the co-ed playdown. The teams skipped by Ben Weddel brought home a gold medel, the team skipped by Kyle Mills brought home a silver medal and the teams skipped by Rob Wright and Matt Swaine brought home a bronze medals. Congradulations to the entire team for a great year. See you tonight at Mandarin.

A huge congratulations goes out to everyone who participated in this year's school musical, Bye Bye Birdie! The school show was a huge success and showcased our very talented students, on and off the stage. A special thank you to the orchestra, led by Mr. Osachoff and Cailin Sperling, the crew, and the many teachers who contributed, including Ms. Ho, Mr. Tepper, Mr. Osachoff, Mrs. Walker, Ms. Crawford, Ms. Malo, Mr. Lee, Mr. Zobary, Ms. Alibashev, Ms. Eastwood, Ms. Saunders, Ms. Ison, Ms. Butler, and Ms. Pinchuk. Thank you to Ms. Rath, Mr. Iskandar, and Mr. Ellis for their full support and to all of the help of many people. The show would not have taken place had it not been for the hard work, dedication, and the exceptional talent of Mr. Sharp. Thank you for bringing this level of theatre back to E.C.I. Congratulations to all.
